Big week of change begins with debut of a brilliant star

Eileen Kelly comes to CLIFFVIEW PILOT with some sparkling bona fides, kicking off a big week of changes here at the one site you can trust for local news and thoughtful perspectives.

Eileen was a semi-finalist in Nick at Nite’s “Search for the Funniest Mom in America,” then went out and blew people away with her solo show, "My Pony’s in the Garage," which premiered at the NY Fringe Festival.

One reviewer called it "one of the best-written and best-performed shows in the festival.”

NYCool.com likened it to “a middle-class version of the film 'The Royal Tenenbaums' and the TV show "Arrested Development'." Her writing is featured in "She’s So Funny -- 1,001 Jokes from the Best Female Comics" and "Squeaky Clean Comedy," both edited by Judy Brown.

Eileen was one of Toyota Comedy festival’s “NY’s Funniest Women” and was featured on NBC’s “Live at Five” as one of the “Momics” performing in “Mom’s Cracking Up.”

She currently is writing a memoir based on her solo show. She's also has written several treatments and spec scripts for television. She likes Springsteen, cheap beer and good Italian bread.

Did we mention she’s also from Jersey?

Eileen's first "  Momic Relief"   column for the PILOT, "  Friending Peaches"   appears in THE GOOD LIFE.
