The body of Kampane (Rhian H. Stoute) was found in a black Chevy Tahoe on Village Circle West around 8 a.m., law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the situation told CLIFFVIEW PILOT late this afternoon.
They told originally told CLIFFVIEW PILOT exclusively that Stoute had been shot at least once. Another source confirmed he was struck once in the head, once in the neck and once in the shoulder with .40-caliber rounds.

"Everybody loved him," Russell Jackson, Kampane's 33-year-old cousin, told the New York Daily News. "We're shocked. It's very confusing...This is out of nowhere."
Born in Brooklyn, raised in Flatbush, Stoute was related to the producer J Runnah -- who has worked with Jay Z, among others.
"It's all about the game and how you play your cards," Stoute sang, touting the joys of living and enjoying the rewards of his new-found fame.
He released his first mix tape in 1997, then went on tour in 2000 with J Runnah and Roc-a-Fella, learning the music business, according to his website, iamkampane.com:
He was in the middle of a major promotional push behind his new music video, "What You Drinkin' On," a playful tune, complete with one-liners and wordplay about champagne and other spirits. "This is Part One / I'm tryin' to get to Part Two," he sings. "Let's get it on." Stoute would have turned 34 in two weeks.
Although he confirmed the discovery and the conditions of the remains for CLIFFVIEW PILOT, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said the official manner of death must be determined by the county medical examiner, given the gruesome circumstances.
Identifying the victim was delayed, the prosecutor said, "[a]s the body had been burned in several locations."
The vehicle has New York plates, he said, and apparently was driven there from wherever the murder was committed.
Village Circle is an oblong, with an intersection for each end south at Howland Avenue and a connecting block that leads to nearby Forest Avenue. It runs parallel to Forrest and Spring Valley Road.
