Prisoner bus crashes on NY Thruway

UPDATE: The northbound New York State Thruway was blocked in Rockland County, just across the state line from Bergen County, while a huge deployment of law enforcement officers securely transported 16 inmates and three state corrections workers whose bus crashed this morning .

According to a CLIFFVIEW PILOT news partner, the Rockland County Times, the crash involving a New York City Corrections Department bus occurred on the northbound side of the state Thruway between Exits 14A and 14B.

Minor injuries so far have been reported. Police kept the inmates on board before securely taking to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern for medical evaluation.

Besides the huge backup on the northbound side of the Thruway, delays were stll being reported southbound at noon.
