Jacqui with Kevin Datolla
Some of the guys use an astringent, like Sea Breeze or Clearasil. But Kevin says he doesn't want to dry up those natural oils. He never breaks out, so why fix it?
Kevin, who played for the Oakland A's and the Los Angeles Dodgers, likes Aveeno body lotion, which he also uses on his face, to keep his skin moist from all that showering. There's a nice face crème from France that many of my clients prefer because it doesn’t have much of a scent and the packaging is simple and unassuming. It's called Ebryolisse.
Just about every player wears a spray or cream sunscreen, Kevin said. The Patriots' trainer pushes this, warning the players and coaches of the dangers of, and recent increase in, skin cancer.
Sunglasses are just as important. Oakley’s are still among the most popular for style AND protection.
For obvious reasons, Kevin said players prefer body wash over soap. It’s a way to keep track of your stuff, and... well... who wants to be sharing?
Speaking of sharing, Kevin says to be sure to have plenty of baby powder and Tinactin on hand, along with rubberized footwear, whenever you go into a locker room. As any athlete will tell you: jock itch and foot fungus are nothing to joke about.
Be sure to sprinkle on the powder after every shower.

And remember: Always use a clean, dry towel.
Love yourself enough to keep working out. Stay fit. Feel good. Look at Kevin.
He does.
