Tank One can test the integrity of underground tanks using sensors that can identify specific areas of failure with "conclusive results."
"This method is the safest, as opposed to pressure testing that can undermine the structure of an aging unsound tank," the company says.
Tank One can also determine whether the soil beneath the tank is contaminated: Its experts drill around the sides, pull samples and then send them to a state-certified lab for testing.
Above-ground tanks are also tested using an ultrasound device that determine just how sound the steel is that's holding back the oil.
